The Chanel boy bag

The Chanel Boy Bag was only introduced in 2011, but quickly became one of the true iconic bags of the French fashion house. The bag is designed by Karl Lagerfeld and is inspired by a cartridge bag, which is made for hunters.

Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel used men's underwear to make dresses, she had a boyish attitude. She got it from Boy Capel, the most important person in her life with whom she had a long affair. This is the history of the name ‘Boy bag’.

The design of the bag

The bag is made to wear as a shoulder bag or as a crossbody bag. In contrast to the 2.55 bag from Chanel, the Boy bag is more bulky. Due to the modern look, details and the coarse chain handle, the bag got very popular in the fashion world. It is characterized by its lego brick lock and in contrast with the Classic Flap bag, a Chanel Boy bag has a cloth lining instead of a leather lining.

Sizes of the Chanel Boy Bag 

The Boy bag is available in three sizes: small, medium and large. The small bag can be used as a purse, the medium size is good for everyday use and the large model is for everyone who likes to carry their life with them. Besides the different sizes, the Boy bag is available in many different materials and colors. There is enough choice for everyone! Next to the Boy bag itself, Chanel also introduced a Boy collection, implementing different models with the recognizable logo brick lock, sturdy chains and use of padding on the leather.
