You probably know Chanel from the Chanel No. 5 or the amazing Chanel bags. Gabrielle Chanel (who started Chanel) is one of the most revolutionary stylists of the 1900s. And although Chanel is now known as a luxury brand, Coco's life didn't start like that. Her mother died prematurely and her father left her, both before she was 18. She was housed in an orphanage called "The Sisters of the Sacred Heart", in Aubazine, France. Where she was raised by nuns, without any luxuries, and surrounded by women who were strictly dressed in plain black and white clothes. It seemed that Gabrielle was a very brave woman, but nothing could be further from the truth. Gabrielle had a secret love life. For a woman at the time, it wasn't really okay for that to happen. We think it radiates more power. She was living her life and she didn't care what others thought of her. In addition, she also built up a very large brand. What kind of a strong woman are you? Monsieur Vuitton started as a trunk maker in Paris at the age of 16. Louis Vuitton was born into a working-class family; his father was a farmer and his mother a milliner. When he was 10 years old, his mother died and his father remarried. His new stepmother was not a very nice person. It is speculated that his stepmother is one of the reasons Louis decided to leave his hometown. In the spring of 1935, when he was only 13, Louis began his two-year trips to Paris. He covered 470 kilometers (293 miles) on foot, taking odd jobs along the way to stay alive. This is how this great brand started.

Now a lot has changed. There are many new products in the collection that we absolutely love, but they also do things very differently behind their brand. Before you buy a nice bag from Louis Vuitton, the bags are tested for durability and usability. Every Louis Vuitton bag and jewelry undergoes rigorous testing. The bags have been mechanically tested. For four days the bags are thrown down from a height of one and a half meters. The bags contain three and a half kilos. With this test they want to see if the bags are of good quality. And the testing is not done at all! The material undergoes ultraviolet rays to ensure resistance to fading. The zipper is also opened and closed approximately 5,000 times before the bag is available in stores. Than the jewelry, this is a different story. The charms on the bracelets are shaken by a mechanical doll. This will ensure you don't lose the hangers. So before a product is in the store, they have been through a lot . . . 

SECRET LOVE LETTERS FOR GABRIELLE CHANEL

Love letters, who doesn't love them? A romantic gesture. Some people (like Gabrielle Chanel) don't get love letters just on Valentine's Day, but all year round (lucky her). Because she had several affairs, she sometimes got love letters. Because not everyone was allowed to know this, she came up with a great solution!

She designed a small compartment in her bags, hardly anything fits in this compartment. Except her love letters! The "secret" compartment is located in the opening flap of the bag. Unfortunately, this love letter box cannot be found in every bag. 

BURNING LOUIS VUITTON PRODUCTS

Wait what?! When we heard about this, we were in shock. Burn expensive and beautiful bags? We did not see that one coming. After each season, the bags and shoes go back to the fabric in France. They say the bags are shredded or burned. The reason behind this rumor? Apparently Louis Vuitton does not want to sell the bags at a lower price. If they do this, the bag will become worthless. So in order to keep the exclusivity and avoid being sold at a cheaper price they set it on fire!

Is it true or a lie? That is the question. We definitely hope it's not true, but you never know. The reason behind it makes sense. No one from Louis Vuitton has ever confirmed this rumor.
