Yves Saint Laurent in six museums
January 29, 2022 is the date. Put this date in your diary because it is not to be missed! Yves Saint Laurent takes over six museums in Paris. Wait what? Six?! Yes, you read that right. This is the largest YSL exhibition ever. The fashion brand is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its first show. Enjoy the life and beautiful works of YSL.
Yves Saint Laurent au 5, avenue Marceau
The Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris was temporarily closed in preparation for the upcoming exhibition: “Yves Saint Laurent au 5, avenue Marceau”. YSL takes over the most famous museums of Paris: Louvre, Pompidou Centre, Musée d'Orsay, Museum of Modern Art, Yves Saint Laurent Museum and Picasso Museum. Each museum has a different theme and focus. The themes vary from modernity to use of color. Pretty cool if you ask us.
Madison Cox is the president of the Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation. He said he will do something that hasn't been done yet. Saint Laurent has a good relationship with art. The designer loves to create unique pieces (and we know that all too well). The YSL brand celebrates the beauty of the body, of charm, of abandonment to romance and is flavored with a touch of ostentatious indecency. All these beautiful things are reflected in his work.
Cox: “The idea was to underline the richness of the permanent collections of these different Parisian museums. So we don't take empty temporary exhibition space and fill it, but we put the Saint Laurent designs in the permanent art galleries''.
Pierre Bergé, business and life partner of Yves, also donated many objects from their art collection to French museums. He is president of the National Opera of Paris, so Bergé plays a big part in French culture.
The exhibitions are open from January 29 to May 15, 2022. So are you ready for a trip to Paris? ‘Oui, oui’ Tickets for the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris can be bought here: https://museeyslparis.com/billetterie
